Phenotype MicroArrays for Microbial Cells Biolog's Phenotype MicroArray™ Technology enables researchers to characterise cells in up to 1,920 assays and evaluate cell changes under thousands of culture conditions and physiological states in a simple, rapid, efficient and cost-effective manner.  By measuring a cell’s response to a genetic or environmental alteration, this integrated system of cellular assays, instrumentation, and bioinformatics software reveals invaluable information to speed insight and discovery and expedite scientific publication. Phenotype MicroArrays (PMs) have broad applicability for genotype-phenotype characterisation as well as for determining optimal conditions for cellular growth, sporulation and germination, production of secondary metabolites, or enzymatic activities in cell lines. Phenotype MicroArrays are a proven method of cellular screening that is extremely beneficial in a wide range of research applications:
    • Discovering effects of loss or gain of gene function.
    • Measuring/documenting changes in cell metabolism over time or under different environmental conditions.
    • Improvement and QC of phenotypic stability of cell lines.
    • Improved efficacy in the production of compounds in biological fermentation processes.
    • Evaluation of new drug/antibiotic candidates in toxicological profiling and mode of action studies.

  • UHT and ESL Beverage Testing The 3M™ Microbial Luminescence System (MLS) is a rapid method for release testing of Ultra High Temperature (UHT) and Extended Shelf Life (ESL) processed products. Following a 2 to 3 day pre-incubation of the product sample, simply pipette 50 µL of the pre-incubated sample into a well of the microplate. Place the microplate on the 3M MLS II instrument and select the appropriate assay within the software. The instrument provides real-time results in 27 minutes or less. With traditional agar methods, not only do you have to pre-incubate sample containers, you then have to wait 2 to 5 days for the microorganisms to grow on the plate. The 3M Microbial Luminesce System eliminates the second incubation period, allowing you to release product 2 to 5 days faster. That means you can reduce inventory storage space and cost, generate faster inventory turns, increase cash flow and be more flexible and responsive to customer needs. Reassuring Reliability. Using bioluminescence technology, the 3M Microbial Luminescence System detects ATP (adenosine triphosphate), an energy molecule universally present in all living organisms. This allows the 3M MLS to have faster time-to-result than traditional pH or agar tests, and more reliably detect a broad range of microorganisms than traditional methods. With the 3M MLS UHT Beverage Screen Kit, a wide variety of UHT and ESL products can be tested such as dairy products (milk, flavored milk, creamers, ice cream mixes), dairy substitutes (soy, rice, almond and coconut milks), juices (orange, apple, peach, grape, tomato), caffeinated beverages, smoothies (formulated with milk and juice), infant/medical nutrition (baby formula, nutrition shakes), coconut water, soups and broths.

Detects as little as 3 µg of protein on surfaces and in hard to reach areas CleanTrace™ ALLTEC60 Surface Protein Swabs are a fast and easy way to visually check whether cleaning has been carried out to a satisfactory standard by means of protein detection. By comparing the colour of the swab and solution against the label, the user can easily interpret the results for the presence of allergens. Clean-Trace® ALTEC60 Surface Protein (Allergen) Test Swab is validated for a range of allergenic proteins, including egg, milk, gluten, soy, peanut, almond and buckwheat. Refrigeration is not required -swabs can be stored at room temperature (25°C or 77°F). This easy-to-use device requires minimal training. The results are semi-quantitative with four possible color interpretations. The faster the test turns purple and the stronger the color change the higher the level of contamination on a surface. Quick detection and confirmation allows immediate corrective action to take place. A visual reading of a colour change indicates the level of cleanliness by detecting as little as 3µg of allergen on surfaces and in solution. No instrumentation is required to interpret the sample results. This product is easily integrated into company HACCP programs to monitor for cleaning effectiveness. Its ease of use, reliable detection and fast, visible results can help in teaching staff the importance of cleaning.
  • Detects as little as 50µg of protein on surfaces and in solution 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Surface Protein Plus Test Swab PRO100 is a simple, quick, and reliable method of checking for the removal of protein residues after cleaning and quickly identifies contamination. This sensitive tool detects as little as 50µg of protein on surfaces. A quick, easy visual reading of a color change indicates the presence of detectable levels of protein and the fast results allow immediate corrective action. The 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Surface Protein Plus Test Swab PRO100 can be integrated into any Hygiene Management Program where risk areas can be effectively monitored for cleaning effectiveness. As an additional benefit, it can help to reduce the risk of biological contamination, where food residues on surfaces could potentially provide nutrients for spoilage or pathogenic bacteria to thrive. This easy-to-use device requires minimal training. Not intended for consumer use. Monitoring the effectiveness of cleaning in critical areas helps to reduce the risk of a food safety incident. With the 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Surface Protein Plus Test Swab PRO100, monitoring for contamination on surfaces and in hard to reach areas is simple with results in 10 minutes. Quick detection and confirmation allows immediate corrective action to take place. A visual reading of a color change indicates the level of cleanliness by detecting as little as 50µg of protein. No instrumentation is required to interpret the sample results. This product can be used with minimal training and is easily integrated into company HACCP programs to monitor for cleaning effectiveness. Additionally, its ease of use, reliable detection and fast, visible results can help in teaching staff the importance of cleaning.

Water Free -  ATP Test Swab 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Water-Free ATP AQF100 is a single-use test device that contains sample collection rings for the collection of an aqueous sample. The sample collection rings aid in the collection of a liquid sample for measuring free adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in solution. Upon activation of the test device, reagent in the cuvette of the test device reacts with ATP collected on the sample collection rings to produce light. The intensity of the light is proportional to the amount of ATP. Measurement of the light requires the use of a 3M™ Clean-Trace™ NG Luminometer and the results are displayed in Relative Light Units (RLU). Not intended for consumer use. The difference between 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Water-Free ATP test results and 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Water Plus - Total ATP test results done on the same sample indicate the amount of intact microbial cells in the sample. With 3M Clean-Trace Water-Free ATP AQF100, monitoring for contamination is simple with real-time results. Quick detection and confirmation allows immediate corrective action to take place. This product can be used with minimal training to monitor for cleaning effectiveness.
