Microbial ID microplates from Biolog Biolog Solutions for Microbial Identification Rapidly and accurately identify nearly 3,000 species of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, yeast, and fungi. In addition to species-level identification, Biolog’s advanced phenotypic technology provides valuable information on the functional properties of strains. Biolog’s carbon source utilisation technology identifies environmental and pathogenic microorganisms by producing a characteristic pattern or “metabolic fingerprint” from discrete test reactions performed within a 96-well microplate. Culture suspensions are tested with a panel of pre-selected assays, then incubated, read and compared to our extensive database. Biolog’s Microbial ID microplates incorporate a patented redox tetrazolium dye that changes colour as a result of cellular respiration, providing a metabolic fingerprint. Our complete solution includes instruments, consumables, databases, software. -
Provides A Superior Tracheal Seal … A Better Fit and Better Seal The MICROCUFF* tube from AVANOS, has advanced microthin polyurethane cuff material that allows the channels to “self-seal,” reducing the possibility of leakage. The build of the tube provides an effective seal at low cuff pressure. In turn, the MICROCUFF* may reduce micro-aspiration of potentially infectious pharyngeal secretions14. What’s more, it is designed for better contact with tracheal contour14. The thinner material enables greater visualisation of vocal cords when cuff is deflated. The MICROCUFF* is non-sterile and made from natural rubber that is latex-free. Intended for use in adults and for single-use. Proven to provide an 89% cleaner catheter tip7 BALLARD* Turbo-Cleaning Closed Suction System from AVANOS, which features technology from BALLARD* trach care, is the only catheter that retracts within a unique and isolated turbulent cleaning chamber. The turbulent cleansing action results in an 89% cleaner catheter tip compared to a standard closed suction system7. This reduced colonisation may help reduce risk of VAE and VAP in your ventilated patients. Manipulation of the ventilator circuit can increase cross-contamination – a leading cause of VAP.7 To help protect patients, a closed ventilator circuit is recognised as a best practice in the prevention of VAP3,5 to maintain ventilation and oxygen therapy throughout suctioning, preventing approximately 50% of the lung volume fall observed when suctioning after disconnection from the ventilator.4 Closed suctioning is a best practice that protects patients and caregivers.3,5 REFS: For references please refer to attached brochure - View Closed Suction Systems Brochure here -
A new standard for paediatric airway management MICROCUFF* Paediatric Endotracheal Tubes from AVANOS, designed specifically for the paediatric anatomy, offer the advantages of a cuffed tube, reducing tracheal trauma and providing a sealed airway that allows minimal and low flow anaesthesia use.1 Its short and cylindrical cuff membrane compensates for different sized and shaped paediatric airways, reducing the need for replacing oversized tracheal tubes, and resulting in lower re-intubation rates.13 The MICROCUFF* brand has changed the existing green Vent Connector on all of the MICROCUFF* tubes and replaced it with a blue Vent Connector. Provides A Superior Tracheal Seal … Proven to Reduce Leakage AVANOS* MICROCUFF* Subglottic Suctioning Adult Endotracheal Tubes are available in adult sizes with a Murphy Eye. They include a separate lumen with a dorsal opening above the cuff to provide access to the subglottic space. The subglottic space is reached via a normally open suction valve which includes a one-way port for rinsing the subglottic space with sterile saline (0.95% Sodium Chloride solution) or administering an air bolus to assist in maintaining suction lumen patency. Multiple size options available for the MICROCUFF* Subglottic Suctioning Adult Endotracheal Tube. Sizing options for the inner diameter vary between 7mm and 9mm. Similarly, the outer diameter sizing ranges from 10.4mm to 12.8mm. Cuff sizes come in 28mm and 30mm. The MICROCUFF* Subglottic Suctioning Adult Endotracheal Tubes are manufactured from natural rubber that is latex-free. EO Sterilised, they should be used no more than once. Multiple access. Multiple procedures. One closed circuit. The BALLARD* Multi-Access Port Closed Suction System from AVANOS, features a compact rotating manifold that provides multiple ports to access the patient’s airway, without jeopardising integrity of the closed circuit. A closed circuit helps you protect your patient from cross-contamination, VAE and VAP3. Also available: BALLARD* Mini-BAL Sampling Catheter Designed for use with the BALLARD* Multi-Access Port System, insert the BALLARD* Mini-BAL Sampling Catheter through the alternate therapy port to obtain a lower respiratory tract sample without opening the ventilator circuit. BALLARD* Mini-BAL Sampling Catheter Proven to enable a more accurate diagnosis for more targeted antibiotic treatment. The AVANOS BALLARD* Mini-BAL Sampling Catheter is a telescoping catheter that safely samples a patient’s lower respiratory tract secretions, giving physicians the data they need to make an accurate lung infection diagnosis and prescribe targeted antibiotic treatment.6 Using bronchoalveolar lavage as a tool to help diagnose lower respiratory tract disease has been shown to reduce both antibiotic usage and healthcare costs.2 The BALLARD* Mini-BAL Sampling Catheter has a soft, directional tip that allows safe and quick retrieval of lower respiratory tract samples. This can help avoid the false negatives and false positives seen in an estimated 23% of endotracheal aspirate cultures.2 These secretions from the distal airway can help identify infectious pathogens of the lung for a microbiologically confirmed diagnosis. Helpful features of the tool includes a suction tube adapter, directional oxygen port, atraumatic tip, and suction tube adapter. Clinicians have multiple models available to them, varying in the size of the outer EVA catheter and inner PVC catheter. The Mini-BAL Sampling Catheter comes EO sterilised in 13fr or 16fr. Designed for use with the AVANOS* Multi-Access Port System. REFS: For references please refer to attached brochure - View Sampling Catheter Brochure here -
